Policies and tips for testing day:
Arrive about 15-20 minutes early for all tests. Have the LTA's contact info handy in case of delays. Once the written test has begun, no late arrivals will be seated. Once the door is closed the test has officially begun late candidates checking in, getting instructions, etc. are a distraction to those who arrived on time. Candidates who miss the test must contact RID for rescheduling, not the Supersite.
Performance testing late starts are at the discretion of the LTA(s). A late arrival can affect the next person's test, so the test may be denied. If this happens, as long as the test has not begun (including official warm-up) candidates can reschedule directly with the Supersite and do not need to contact RID.
For the written test there may be some parking costs (free-lance folks keep the receipt or log the metered amount for a tax deduction).
Bring the receipt of payment even if we've already received it. This will serve as proof of receipt in the unlikely event of a mix-up.
Bring a valid picture ID - even if the LTA and candidate know one another.
No notes or other reference materials of any kind are allowed in the testing room. The LTA must keep any bags, backpacks or luggage at the front of the room for the duration of [the] test.
Cell phones and pagers must be turned off - not set to vibrate or silent mode - OFF. Please let family and friends know that phones and pagers will be off during those hours. If there is an emergency situation that requires constant availability please contact RID to reschedule the test for another time when the situation has resolved.
One candidate at a time is allowed to go to the restroom, however no cell phones, purses, bags, testing materials or pens/pencils are allowed out of the room. Any medication, tissues or other necessary restroom paraphernalia should be placed in the pockets before the test begins.
All written tests can be given together so NIC, OIC, CDI, and SC:L candidates may all be testing on the same day at the same time in the same room.
Performance test candidates should dress as though they are going to an interpreting assignment, however please do not wear red or white as these colors do not show up well on video.
Legal performance test candidates may bring one page of notes prepared PRIOR to testing date into the testing room per legal test instructions. Notes are not allowed for all other tests.
