When hearing and deaf people communicate with one another they typically require the services of a sign language interpreter. How does this work? A person skilled in communicating with deaf, deaf blind or hard of hearing people joins in whatever situation is happening – classrooms, doctors appointments, courtrooms, literally anywhere – and facilitates communication, usually through sign language. Traditionally, this service is done live – wherever hearing and deaf people are wishing to communicate.
