For deaf and hard of hearing people who do not use sign language, SignOn offers oral interpreting services. Many deaf people “read lips” as their preferred mode of communication. An oral interpreter will present on the lips and face what is being said to the deaf consumer. The interpreter does this in such a way, using pace, translation, and expressions, that it is easily understood by a deaf person who uses speech reading.
